Welcome to our Blog!

Remember the movie The Truman Show from 1998 and how bizarre it seemed that somebody's entire life was broadcast out to millions of viewers, unbeknown to the star of the show? Ten years later, many of us have willingly opened up our lives, in varying degrees, to the curious eyes wandering the Internet. And while our viewers may not be in the millions, there are just enough friends and family out here in cyberspace, all sharing experiences with each other, that no matter where we may be living, we need not feel alone or isolated. Kendra and I love reading about our friends experiences, viewing photographs of our friends in far away places, and watching video of those we don't see often enough. We hope you will enjoy our Blog.

Teaching myself to sew

Ever since I was little I have always loved to do crafts. I would learn something, get bored with it, then move on. Well, I'm in that stage right now. I taught myself how to make hair clips and have been for about 6 months now. I have had positive feedback with it and enjoy doing it. However, I felt like I needed a bigger challenge, since I have just about perfected my craft of hair clips. I'm moving onto SEWING! Lance was kind enough to buy me a computerized sewing machine. Which is AWESOME, I must admit. So I'm now teaching myself how to sew and it's quite challenging. Trying to read a sewing pattern feels like a foreign language to me. I have taken 1 class of sewing in junior high but that's about it. Today I finished my first sewing project and I'm very proud of it. It's a dress for Elizabeth, which is a little big, but it will fit soon enough! What do you think?

I forgot to mention there was a lot of blood, sweat and tears that went into making this dress. Even ask Lance. My finger is still healing.

Oh it's so cute! I love the pattern! Your like me I've always wanted to learn how to sew but it is very foreign to me. I'm still waiting for a nice sewing machine. I think it's awesome your teaching yourself how to do new things. You go girl!

The dress is so cute! Recently I tried to sew a skirt with some of my girl friends. A couple of weeks later my friend said, "oh, I must have been drunk when I was sewing that for you." I was like, "No, I sewed it myself, remember?" So obviously I'm not a seamstress. I am impressed that you are learning how! :)

Kendra, that is SO cute! There was a time I tried to sew as well but, suffice it to say, I think my talents lie elsewhere (just don't know where yet!).

Kendra! Cute diggity dog! I'm IMPRESSED! Thats insane! Yeah... not so much a really artsy person, and until we have our own space and I can work in my own mess, I'm not going to venture down that road!!!! The dress is adorable though! Now, can you please make Lance a matching one and post a pic? ;)
