Welcome to our Blog!
Remember the movie The Truman Show from 1998 and how bizarre it seemed that somebody's entire life was broadcast out to millions of viewers, unbeknown to the star of the show? Ten years later, many of us have willingly opened up our lives, in varying degrees, to the curious eyes wandering the Internet. And while our viewers may not be in the millions, there are just enough friends and family out here in cyberspace, all sharing experiences with each other, that no matter where we may be living, we need not feel alone or isolated. Kendra and I love reading about our friends experiences, viewing photographs of our friends in far away places, and watching video of those we don't see often enough. We hope you will enjoy our Blog.
Yesterday Elizabeth had her first birthday! We probably would have gone to Vancouver for the weekend to make the celebration a little more exciting than just the three of us, but David and Kellie's baby is due to arrive any day now so we are going up there next weekend anyways.
Kendra made a delicious homemade yellow cake with Little Mermaid decorations. We have been pretty careful about not giving Elizabeth sugar, so we were anxious to see how she would attack the cake. As you can see from the video below, Elizabeth didn't think too much of the cake. She had a couple bites, but other than that she just played with it.

What a fun video! We were really careful with Madeleine never to feed her sugar and never to eat fast food. Unfortunately, our standards eroded significantly in the face of time and family pressures. Tessa likes cake. Madeleine can take it or leave it. I'll be very interested to see how much your later children will like cake! Happy Birthday, Elizabeth
