Welcome to our Blog!

Remember the movie The Truman Show from 1998 and how bizarre it seemed that somebody's entire life was broadcast out to millions of viewers, unbeknown to the star of the show? Ten years later, many of us have willingly opened up our lives, in varying degrees, to the curious eyes wandering the Internet. And while our viewers may not be in the millions, there are just enough friends and family out here in cyberspace, all sharing experiences with each other, that no matter where we may be living, we need not feel alone or isolated. Kendra and I love reading about our friends experiences, viewing photographs of our friends in far away places, and watching video of those we don't see often enough. We hope you will enjoy our Blog.

Parle vu Francias (sp?)

Chateau Frontenac Hotel, Quebec City

Kendra and I were a little disappointed that I have to be away for Elizabeth's first Halloween. I am in Quebec for a week doing a physical audit of one of our facilities. Although I'm within Canada, it still feels like a foreign country with the whole language thing. Quebec is a very neat looking city from what I have seen, and I think it would be nice to make a trip out here with Kendra and Elizabeth.
I had a revolting/funny experience at lunch yesterday. Some of us went to lunch at a fairly nice restaurant where they don't speak English. The controller from Quebec was with us so she did all the translating. They brought out my steak, and as I was taking my first bite from the spinach, I saw a bug crawling around. It was a very small bug, but still, that's gross. I feel like I get more than my share of foreign objects in my meals at restaurants, and I always send it back. This time, however, I was dreading having to explain the bug to the waitress through the translator. It would have created a scene and I didn't want to risk the chef depositing a juicy loogie in my replacement meal. So you guessed it, I fished the bug out, which took a little effort, and polished off my plate. Kendra, I am sure, is violently throwing up at this point just thinking about what I did. The meal was actually pretty good and I would recommend the restaurant to anybody visiting the outskirts of Quebec City.
So Kendra, do I get a welcome home kiss when I get back?

SICK, I think I just spit up a little while reading that. At least you didn't eat the bug.
